10 Ways A Cat Will Make Your Day

June 11, 2015
We tend to be
split when it comes to household animals of the furry four-legged
variety, becoming either ‘dog people’ or ‘cat people’. There
has long been debate over which one is better, with dogs often
overtaking cats with the nation seeing them as ‘mans best friend’,
a loyal and loving companion who has a connection with us that no
other animal can.
But are cats
being underestimated? Here are 10 ways those little bundles of fur
will make your day. *FYI you will almost definitely be scrawling the

for your own feline friend
before you even reach number ten! *
  1. They are SO adorable, just
look at their little faces! How can that alone not make your
day? If you are having a bad day just scroll through the cat posts
on Buzzfeed, you won’t be able to help but smile.
  1. In fact cats have become such huge
internet sensation that boredom has become a thing of the past
thanks to their cute faces. Who knew there could be so many videos
and pictures of cats that we could spend literally hours of our day
looking through them all. Cats in tiny hats,
    anyone?
  1. One cat that definitely makes its
owners day everyday is Grumpy Cat! The most famous (and grumpiest)
cat around has inspired memes, a book and even a movie. Alongside
thousands of Instagram and Twitter followers, her face now appears
on T-shirts, mugs and calendars. All of which has made her a £64
    million fortune!
  1. Talking of cats working to earn a
living, as if Disney wasn’t magical enough did you know about the
Disneyland Cats? These felines are ‘employed’ by the park to
keep the grounds spotless and free from unwanted pests.
  1. Cats are always on your side and
will be there for you when you need them the most. Just like this
    cat
who kindly modeled a crop top so its owner could prove a
    point.

  1. Cats aren’t
needy; they pretty much look after themselves and don’t ask
anything from you. Apart from a sleepy cuddle (which is what we
really want from them isn’t it?) and they sleep a lot! In fact
they spend a whopping 70% of their lives asleep that equates to
    around 16 hours a day!
  1. Whilst a photo will put a smile on
your face, a cat cuddle can keep your calm; relieving stress and
anxiety. The soft feel of their fur and the repetitive motion of
petting, alongside the soothing and relaxing sound of their purr,
can eliminate even your biggest worries.
  1. Don’t have a boyfriend? Would
being a crazy cat lady really be the worst thing in the world? Cats
actually relieve loneliness as they offer a connection, just by
having a cat to come home to can be a comfort particularly for those
    who live alone.
  1. Likewise if you are a single man
looking for a date you may be surprised to hear that all you need is
a cat! A poll found that 82% of women are more attracted to a man
who likes animals, while 90% of women said that men who own a cat
are nicer than other guys. Perhaps changing your Tinder photo to you
and your moggy isn’t a bad idea after all?
  1. There are health benefits to
owning a cat. Really! According to studies they can lower your
cholesterol, reduce the risk of strokes, prevent allergies from
developing and improve your immune function, to name a few!

The Tubblet has been campaigning for a cat for years! I'll hide this post from her as it contains some arguments she's not yet tried!
