Learning to swim in Majorca

July 26, 2016
One of the best things that came out of our recent family holiday to Majorca was that our four year old twin girls learnt to swim.

My husband and I have taken the girls swimming previously in our local leisure centre, and I think it’s fair to say that they’re proper water babies! They love it!

It hasn’t always been that way though! When they were babies, baths weren’t their favourite thing in the world! Now though, they’d happily sit in the bath until the water is cold!

Back to our holiday and our first day was spent by the swimming pool. We blew up their armbands and as we entered the water I made sure I had a firm grip on them.

Over the next few days their confidence in the water increased so much! They were keen to kick their legs and move their arms, and by the end of our seven day holiday, both girls were jumping into the water at the deep end and swimming the width of the pool with confidence!

One day I swam off as the girls were with their dad. When I turned around R was half way to me following behind!

It was such an amazing thing to watch their confidence in the water! My husband filmed the girls on his go pro camera, you can view the video here on his blog, DIY Daddy.

I also think that swimming is an important thing for children to learn, and now that we’re home I can see lots of trips to the leisure centre coming up!

Yes it's so important for kids to learn to swim.
Little Miss OMG loves the water, and on holidays the boys would spend all day in the pool.
It's great they picked it up so quickly.

It looks like you all had a great time, it's so important that our children learn to be safe in the water.

Alfie comes alive when he's in the pool, he loves it. Clearly the twins do too, it's truly fab to see them learning to swim isn't it. Thanks for hosting #binkylinky
