A Family Day Out

April 11, 2015
As a family we like to spend our time together doing fun and exciting things, visiting new places and generally anything that doesn’t cost too much!
When Ffrees Family Finance kindly sent us a box of family friendly goodies to help us have a great day out we quickly got our thinking caps and started to plan our day.

We chose the Easter bank holiday weekend as the weather was forecast to be sunny and warm. We decided to take the girls on a bike ride to our local park.

We recently bought them a new bike each so thought it would be a good opportunity for them to get some practise in.

Armed with some sweets for the journey, courtesy of our free goody box, we set off!
It was only the second time that we’d taken the girls out on their bikes so they’re still in the very early stages of learning how to ride them.
The journey to the park went fairly well with both girls staying on their bikes and peddling in the right direction.
When we got to the park the girls went on the swings and slides. They love having the freedom to run around and it’s great to watch them and be outdoors together as a family.

After around an hour in the park it was time to head home for some lunch. I think all of the running around and the actual bike ride to the park wore the girls out because on the way home they didn’t want to pedal!
It certainly wore my husband and I out pushing them back up the hill on their bikes! It was a great day out though! I think next time, we’ll go on a shorter bike ride though!
