AD| Making your winter or spring wedding day special
Some of the most important milestones in a woman’s life include prom and getting married. Quite often however, there are other milestones that get overlooked. For example, the moment a woman makes the decision to focus on their career, gain more skills and further education, or perhaps even the decision to not have children or get married.
As a mother of twin girls, these things often cross my mind. Whether my children want to have children or not, or get married or not, as long as they’re happy that’s all really does matter.
My girls are so very different. One plays football and the other gymnastics. I love how different they are! When I think ahead to high school, I can just see them now. If they decide to go to prom, I imagine one of my girls will spend hours trying to find the perfect dress and the other will probably opt for a suit!
When I went to prom I remember I chose the sparkliest, purple dress I could find! Something one of my daughters would love and the other would most likely loath!
When it comes to getting married, a lot of women decide to buy prom dresses for their bridesmaids rather than ‘official’ bridesmaid dresses. This often works out cheaper. It’s what I did when I got married. To find a prom dress to suit you and your bridesmaids, it’s worth shopping around.
My husband and I got married in winter so we had to think of some additional elements that wouldn’t apply to a spring wedding. For example, keeping the bridesmaids warm. That’s why we chose some white fur shoulder wraps so the bridesmaids could stay warm and still look nice in the photos – as oppose to wearing big coats!
For me, one of the best things you can do for your children is take lots of photos but don’t just leave them on your phone. Print them off, frame them or put them into a photo album. In years to come, you can all enjoy looking back on them.
That’s why when you get married one of the best decisions you can make is choosing the right wedding photographer. Different photographers have different styles so finding the one that’s right for you is so important. After all, you can’t get those photos back after the day so make sure you do your research and find the right wedding photographer for you.
There are also some really good apps nowadays that you can use for your photos. Wedding Photo Shop is a good example of this. This app lets you collect and share any photo taken by your guests on your wedding day with their easy to use mobile apps and web albums.
My husband and I made a photo book of our wedding photos but nowadays you can find amazing apps for your phone which allow your guests to also share their photos of your special day with you too. You never know, one of those guests may just capture your favourite photo!
