Brilliant Mum Feature

This week our brilliant mum feature is Emma from Even Angels Fall.

Emma is 29 years old and is a self employed blogger and social media manager. She lives in Bournemouth with her husband and 3 kids. Emma enjoys writing, reading, heading to events and relaxing with a book in the bath, or a walk by the sea.

Thanks for taking part Emma!

Have you always wanted to be a mum?

I knew I wanted to be a mum from a young age but I didn’t plan on having children as young as I did (21).

How did you feel when your children were born?

My first son was an unplanned pregnancy. I was in my third year of university when I fell pregnant with him and I went back to my fourth year just a week after having him. I wasn’t with his dad and being a single parent and juggling a degree was hard. It was all a bit of a blur if I’m honest. By the time I had my daughter I was a bit more prepared and when I had my youngest, I knew what to expect

What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?

Seeing the children play together, and the oldest two looking after the youngest and showing him how to do things and play with them. It can be tough at times but these moments make it all worth it

What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?

I managed to avoid being peed on by both boys, but had my daughter wee all over me when she was tiny instead!

Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?

When they are upset or have upset somebody else it’s hard to know what to do or say to make the situation better. I struggle to be firm with them if I can see that they are upset about something, even if it’s in their best interest

What are your dreams and hopes for your children?

All I want for them is for them to be who they want to be, and to never feel like they can’t be themselves, and do what they want to do.
