Brilliant Mum Feature Week 20
Hello and welcome to the Brilliant Mum Feature. Once a week I will be featuring one mum in a bid to find out more about them and their lives.
If you’d like to take part in this series, simply fill in this form.

This week our brilliant mum feature is Josefine who blogs at My Danglish Family.
Josefine says she’s the baking obsessed (cake addict) mum of the most wonderful little boy, Elliot, who’s 14 months old. She’s also the Danish half of her little family of three. When she’s not mothering and baking cakes, she’s either out and about with J (her other half) and the little guy enjoying the great nature that surrounds them up here in the northern parts of England. The less exciting option is she’ll be at work, working night shifts as nurse.
Thanks for taking part Josefine!

Have you always wanted to be a mum?
Yes! I think I was a mum before I became a mum! My friends have always joked with me being the “mummy” in the sense that I’ll always have something fresh out of the oven and have always preferred having people over for dinner and what we Danes like to call Hygge as opposed to being out drinking and dancing the night away.
How did you feel when your children were born?
Short answer – extremely emotional, it’s difficult to put in words what a life changing experience meeting your child for the first time is!

What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?
Just watching this little human go from utterly dependent to know being such a little character, the constant milestones and just the sheer joy I get from seeing him master something new. Like who knew you could get that excited about someone clapping!

What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?
I think if I look back on the early extremely sleep deprived days of motherhood, situations like accidentally answering the door with your boob out because you forgot to pack it away after latest feed are absolutely hilarious, looking back that is, in the moment it was mostly just really really akward.
Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?
The continuous sleep deprivation! Seriously I’m amazed that I function on a day to day basis let alone manage to go to work and look after other people!
What are your dreams and hopes for your children?
I just hope that Elliot grows up to be a kind, confident and happy man.
