Creative Ways of Announcing a Multiple Pregnancy
When you’ve had to go through IVF, there aren’t many couples who would say no to a twin pregnancy – especially if they have no other children. Even though there are lots of risks when it comes to multiple pregnancies, most would-be parents would happily take them on. If you’ve been lucky enough to conceive twins, you may be trying to think of creative ways to tell people. In fact, many people are switching baby showers for gender reveal parties these days. Here’s some ideas for how to give the ultimate surprise to family and friends.

Sometimes, all you need to do is hand someone a picture to get the biggest reaction. There are lots of creative ways you can tell people about your pregnancy through pictures. Something as simple as a photo of two pairs of baby boots can say it all or if you want to have some fun with it, why not get yourself and your partner t-shirts that say ‘I can’t stay calm, I’m having twins’ and take a picture with your bump. You can even get your pets involved. They have great signs for dogs, saying ‘Guard Dog Duty Begins (Due Date)’.
Give Out Gifts
This is something you can really have fun with. Whether you choose gifts that give it away immediately or gifts that make the recipients guess, reactions can be priceless. Some ideas include plaques that say, ‘grandparents of twins live here’ or you could get your scan picture put on a giant cookie if you have little cousins in the family. If you really want to keep people guessing, why not fill a box full of little clues like a baby rattle and the movie ‘Twins’.
Gender Reveal Party
There are so many fantastic ways to reveal the gender of your babies, and twin pregnancies can really take it out of you, so why not have as much fun as possible? You could have two cakes, with the colour of the sponge inside being each baby’s gender. You could let either pink or blue balloons out of a box in the garden. Or, if you don’t mind getting a bit messy, why not try pink or blue silly string. However, if you do wait until the party to reveal the genders, it’s likely the whole family will want to attend. If you need to provide for more people than usual, you may want to consider kitchen appliances rental and getting your food catered. Of course, it depends on how many guests you have, but you want to be able to enjoy it, so don’t over exert yourself.
Playing a Video
If you’ve gone through fertility treatment, some of your family and friends may already know of your struggles. Creating a video that shows everything from start to finish isn’t just a victory celebration, it’s an inspiration for others. Everyone loves a happy ending, so if you can put together pictures of your time during treatment and finding out the good news, there won’t be a dry eye in the house.
