Disneyland Paris Trip Report Day 2

June 27, 2017

Following on from my last Disneyland Paris trip report here is a report of day number 2!

Today, (Tuesday), was forecast rain so we decided to head over to the Disney Studios to meet some characters.

Officially the Studios don’t open until 10am, but I had read online that the gates actually open at 9.30am.

Disneyland Paris Studios

After having breakfast in our hotel (the Disneyland Hotel) restaurant, Inventions, we headed straight to the Studios.

We arrived around 9am and found a small crowd of people waiting. We joined one of the lines so pretty close to the front of the queue.

When the gates opened at 9.30am, we headed straight over to meet Spiderman. When we arrived we were third in the queue so we were pretty happy about this! We had to wait another half hour before the Studios officially opened, but when they did, it meant we didn’t need to wait long to meet Spiderman.

When our turn came around, the girls went straight up to Spiderman and gave him a hug and a high-five. Spiderman talked to both girls and then we all posed for some photos!

R, is a big Spiderman fan so she absolutely loved meeting him!

We then headed over to meet Buzz Lightyear. It was a short queue of around 20 minutes, and so far so good, as the rain had held off!

After meeting Buzz, we decided to find Belle as M loves her princesses! When we arrived at the meet and greet for Belle we were told that the queue was around two hours long. As well as lots people already queuing up to meet Belle, we were told that Belle stays for 45 minutes, then has a 15 minute break and so on.

As we were already there we decided we may as well wait. Belle’s meet and greet was in the Art of Animation building so this meant that whilst the girls dad queued, we could wander around the shop and do some colouring in, as well as look at what else was around.

The girls were so good and so patient! Before we knew it, it was time to meet Belle!

She was lovely and knelt down to their level as she talked to them. She signed the girls autographs books and had pictures taken with them too.

Thankfully when the rain arrived it was during the time that we queued up, so by the time we finished, we’d missed the rain!

We then wandered around the Studios and posed for a photo in front of Rex from Toy Story! We also went on some rides such as Slinky Dog, which is a small rollercoaster.

I booked lunch today at Auberge de Cendrillon (ADC) with the princesses. Before arriving, I knew that the food may not be to our liking as I’d checked the menus, but I thought it would be worth it for the opportunity for the girls to meet some princesses.

Whilst we were sat at our table, the princesses each took it in turn to visit us. We met Cinderella and her mice, Suzy and Perla, Snow White, Aurora and Ariel.

Whilst the food wasn’t great, the interaction with the princesses was superb!

We spent the rest of the afternoon going on some rides such as the carousel again, it’s a small world and the flying dumbos before we headed back to the hotel so the girls could have a nap.

Nige and I really wanted to stay up to watch the Illuminations. This is a show that’s projected onto the Disneyland castle, with music and fireworks. It was at 11pm so we let the girls have a long nap, before we woke them up, had some food at Plaza Gardens, which was a buffet. The food was amazing! I had a very tasty salmon with some rice!

We then went on some more rides and made our way over to the castle around 10.30pm. We found good spot, pretty close to the front.

Illuminations was absolutely amazing! The show, the music, the fireworks, the atmosphere! It was definitely worth staying up for!

On the way out of the Disney park, Mickey Mouse was stood up high waving goodbye and goodnight to everyone. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day!

Keep an eye on the blog for my day 3 trip report next week!
