Does your child know road safety?
Our twins will be three years old at the end of this month. I’ve taught them a lot of things in those last three years. From numbers and shapes to colours and counting.
I’ve taught them how to share, how to be nice to one another and how they should behave. I know that I won’t always be able to be there for them, so it’s very important to me that I teach them all they need to know about the world they live in.
One such thing is the importance of road safety. For as long as I can remember I have always held the girls hands when out and about. I think it’s important that they know when we’re out that we hold hands to stay safe.
Holding hands is simple and it could help to save their life. If I didn’t hold their hand when walking on the pavement they could run or fall into the road. I understand that children like to be independent, so when we’re in the park or at the farm I’m more than happy to let them run and walk around without holding my hand and it’s important to let them do that as they’ll soon realise why that’s ok, but why we must hold hands when near a road.
When it comes to crossing the road I always tell the girls to stop. Then look in both directions for cars and also to listen out for cars too.
Rentalcars.com have created this road safety quiz to help both children and their parents to learn about road safety.
If you can spare a few minutes, it’s well worth having a go!
This quiz was sent to me by rental cars.com, but all words and opinons are 100% my own.

I think it's so important to teach road safety as young as possible especially for us living on an estate and cars are constantly going by in front of our house. I try to make sure both kids know all about it. Love the quiz and I took it too as english have so many different rules and signs than americans. It was good for me to learn too hahaha. I agree, it is so important to teach the little ones about road safety. I am trying at the moment with G but he doesn't like listening. Will keep going with it though!
