We’re taking part in Families Online #everymomentcounts challenge.
We were set a fun challenge to capture our ‘little family moments’ each day for a week, and then write a short blog post explaining why we chose these moments and why they are so special to us.
The challenge was for 7 days and ran from the 18th– 24th of September. Each day we were given a theme and then asked to take a photo for that theme.
The themes for each day were as follows:
Day 1. Together
Day 2. Tradition
Day 3. Laughter
Day 4. 3 Things
Day 5. Colourful
Day 6. Love
Day 7. Reflection
Day 1. Together
I chose this photo because it was taken after a very long, busy, but fun day. In the morning I went for my last long run (18K) before my first half marathon. We then took our girls swimming, before heading into hospital for the girls to visit their nanna before going out for a lovely meal together.

Day 2. Tradition
Tradition is one of my favourite words because to me it means family, homely, comfort and memories. I remember having lots of different family traditions when I was younger and one of those was making pizzas with my mum.
It’s something that I now enjoy doing with our girls, and they love making their own pizzas as much as they enjoy eating pizza!

Day 3. Laughter
This photo was taken during a day out we had in the summer holidays to West Midland Safari Park. R climbed on top of a ‘hill’ in the park which has these plastic ‘bubbles’ in the top. She was very surprised to see that I’d crawled into the tunnel and stood with my face in the bubble! She thought it was very funny!

Day 4. 3 Things
The first three things that came to mind for todays theme are the girls most favourite toys and their blankets. R carries her toy ‘Daddy Dog’ everywhere with her, and M carries her baby doll everywhere with her. The blankets are extra special because the girls have had them since they were babies. They were in their incubators when they were born and they’ve stayed by their side ever since.

Day 5. Colourful
I love this photo that was taken at a recent day out to Dyffryn Gardens. Our girls and their daddy had lots of fun dressing up as soldiers and nurses!

Day 6. Love
For me this picture tells a thousand words. The twin bond, the sisterly love that will last forever. They may argue like cat and dog most days, but when it comes to down to it, they love one another so much.
Every night before bed they give each other a goodnight cuddle and kiss. When they walk into school, they always do so hand in hand.

Day 7. Reflection
The last theme is reflection and it’s a rather personal one. This is me now on the right. I’ve lost two stone and this Sunday I’ll be completing my first half marathon. Reflecting on how far I’ve come in terms of weight loss, and the dedication and motivation that’s seen me go from struggling to run 1k to running a half marathon really does amaze me.
