Girls Pirate Costume Review from Pretend To Bee
Queen Elsa, a cat, a doctor or a ballerina. Kids love dressing up and my two are no exception! Dressing up has many benefits for children. As well as encouraging imaginative play and giving children the chance to create fictional scenarios, dressing up also encourages team work as well as give and take.
When my girls play with their toy shop, they take it in turns to be the shopkeeper and the customer. They work together to decide who will be the shop keeper first and then they start to act our their roles. They allow each other time to say what they want to say, for example the shopkeeper will ask the customer what they’d like.
By demonstrating their listening skills, the customer will then respond their request. In our case it’s usually a cup of tea or an ice lolly!
Pretend To Bee kindly allowed us to review two of their pirate girl costumes.
Available in sized 2-3 years, 3-5 years and 5-7 years, this pirate costume is great value for money at just £15.95.
The costumes are a cute design with the black and white striped skirt matching the black and white bandana.
I love the bandana because it also includes an eye patch. The bandana can be tied at the back so it can fit lots of different sized heads – even mine! Yes, I had a go and tried it on too!
The top half of the dress is a ‘blouse’ style just like a pirates and I love the puffy sleeves!
The black waistband helps to separate the top half of the dress with the bottom and the pink ‘bunting’ style triangles help to add some extra detail to the overall look of the costume.
Our twins are three in February so I ordered two dress in size 3-5 years. They fit well, but still have plenty of room to grow into them, so they’ll last a while.
Pretend To Bee also have pirate costumes available for boys.
The pirate girl costume is 65% polyester and 35% cotton.
Overall, these pirate costumes are really good value for money. R and M have enjoyed wearing them and acting out various pirate scenarios.
For the purpose of this review we were sent two pirate girl costumes from Pretend To Bee. All views are 100% my own.
