Hatchimals CollEGGtibles Unboxing and Review
Last year the parenting world went into overdrive when Hatchimals hit the market. Our twin girls were desperate for one each for Christmas, but my husband and I struggled to find them in stock anywhere. We searched online, set up stock alerts and raided all of our local supermarkets. Luckily we came up trumps one day and managed to get them in time for Christmas.
Our girls faces lit up when they unwrapped them Christmas morning and they’ve been playing with them ever since!
If your little ones love Hatchimals then I have some good news for you. Spin Master have just launched a new range of toys called Hatchimals CollEGGtibles. Available in packs of 1 (SRP £2.99), 2 + nest (SRP £4.99), and a 4 pack with bonus character (SRP £9.99), I can see these toys becoming very popular on the playground.
We were sent two blind bags, a pack of 2 + nest, and a 4 pack with bonus character to review.
These adorable Hatchimals come inside small, speckled eggs and they need a child’s touch to hatch. All children need to do to help their eggs hatch is to hold the egg, rub the heart and when it changes colour from purple to pink, it’s ready to hatch. Then just gently crack the egg to discover the Hatchimal inside, each with a set of glittery wings.
The colour of their wings can help you determine how rare or common your Hatchimal is. Silver wings are common, pink are rare, purple is ultra rare and blue are limited edition.
We also received a handy season 1 collectors chart and map of Hatchopia. Hatchopia is a hidden land filled with magical plants, flowers and wonders that can’t be found anywhere else. There are a total of 11 hangouts in Hatchopia.

There are 13 different families in season 1 with over 70 characters to collect.

The speckles on the eggs can help your child discover what family their Hatchimal is from.
Our girls loved hatching their eggs. They took time to rub the purple hearts until they changed colour to pink, then used all of their strength to crack the eggs open to reveal the Hatchimal inside. I did need to give the girls a bit of help to crack the eggs as they are quite tough.
As you can see each Hatchimal is different. They’re all brightly coloured with super cute faces and glittery wings! Whats more, the base of the eggs that they were in can be used as nests for your Hatchimal!

R and M really enjoy playing with their new Hatchimal CollEGGtibles and ticking off which ones they’ve collected from their collectors list.

If they get more than one of the same, they can even decide to trade them with their friends! Check out our unboxing video below to see the eggs hatch.
Overall, we love these new Hatchimals CollEGGtibles. I think they’re very reasonably priced and our girls absolutely adore their new creatures!

I clicked into the post thinking it would be quite expensive for these collEGGtibles but actually they seem quite a reasonable price. Definitely something my girls would enjoy too 🙂
