Our Favourite Toddler Toys

June 1, 2013
As I’m always on the lookout for toys to entertain and educate our twins, I thought I would write a post about their favourite toys. I would like to stress that this is not a sponsored post. I haven’t been asked to write this by anyone nor have I been paid or accepted anything for writing this post. I haven’t included links to these toys in this post as I’m posting from my mobile but a quick online search should bring them up. Enjoy!
1.  Fisher Price Brilliant Basics Baby’s First Blocks.
It’s only in the past few months that the girls have really started playing with this toy. When we first bought it they were a bit young for it, however they have always enjoyed exploring the different shapes and colours of the blocks. Now that our girls are older (15 months) they’ve started to use this toy for its intended purpose – a shape sorter. Both girls love fitting the shapes into the holes and when they post them through the right holes they’re delighted. A firm favourite in our household.
2. Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Cookie Shape Surprise
Another shape sorting toy that is just adorable. As well as teaching the different shapes, it also teaches numbers as this toy has two modes of play. The nose lights up, it plays music, the lid comes off and again a toy well worth the money.
3. Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Say Please Tea Set
This toy is all about role play. It’s super cute and comes with two cups, a plate and 3 delicious looking plastic cakes which double up as a shape sorter on the pink plastic plate. It plays music, teaches counting, shapes and manners. I can see this toy getting a lot of use as the girls grow.
4. Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Song and Story Music Chair
Another great toy by Fisher Price that has the durability and longevity factor. The girls enjoy sitting in the seat and looking at the book on the top, turning the pages, listening to the music and this toy also reads the story aloud. It has cute plastic ‘crayons’ on top which when pressed go up and down to our girls delight!
5. Vtech Tiny Touch Phone
A great little toy that lights up and teaches shapes, colours and numbers. It plays music and is a fab toy for role play. Our girls still play with this at 15 months old and I’m pretty sure they’ll still be playing with it when they turn 2 and beyond!
6. Fisher Price Brilliant Basics Rock-a-stack
Stacking rings that rock! Our girls enjoy playing with this toy and stacking them in the stand, they also double up as nice bracelets as ‘R’ in particular enjoys wearing them on her wrists! Great at teaching stacking and sorting in size order.
7. Early Learning Centre Jungle Wonder Cubes
Each cube has something different about it. Wether that’s the colour, the mirrored side or has sequins in the top these are a lovely toy. Teaching stacking skills again, which our twins love doing.
8. Tomy Hide ‘n’ Squeak Eggs
6 in a box and again as well as shape sorting these teach colours and our little ladies really do enjoy fitting the top of the eggs onto the bottom.
