Puddle Pac-a-Mac Review from Muddy Puddles
When we moved house around a month ago now, I was really excited about the area surrounding our new home. Aside from being just over the road from the park, we also have a lovely path that follows a small brook through our village. When I was growing up, in the same area, my sister and I loved wading through the water, throwing stones in and going for walks along this path. With that in mind I knew that our girls would love it too!
Although the sun hasn’t been shining much lately, that hasn’t put us off exploring our surroundings and when Muddly Puddles, a British children’s wear retailer who specialise in creating really high quality children’s outdoor clothing, got in touch recently asking if I’d like to review their Puddle Pac-a-Macs I thought it’d be a great opportunity to put them to test and go exploring!
Puddle Pac-a-Macs are available in three different colours, blue and red (as pictured above), and also in a green umbrella pattern design.
Available for £20, Puddle Pac-a-Macs comes in sizes from 18-24 months all the way up to 11-12 years. They’re fully waterproof, breathable, lightweight and each fold into their own pockets which is very handy for school bags or days out!
When I first took the Puddle Pac-a-Macs out of the packaging I was instantly impressed with the quality of them. They feel durable and lightweight, but they also look really good too.
The first thing that I was curious about was just exactly how they fold into the pockets. The Puddle Pac-a-Macs have two pockets, one either side. However, one of the pockets has a velcro closing and a hook inside. This is the pocket that also acts a bag to keep the mac in. To fold it away, you simply reach into the pocket and pull the hook out which in turns pulls the pocket out forming a small bag.
To put the mac into the bag, you just need to push it in. It’s very easy to do and I love that the hook means you can hang it up anywhere you want. The bag also has a label on in which you can write your child’s name.
Our twins are four years old so they’re wearing size 4-5 years. As you can see from the pictures they fit really well and both R and M look comfortable and happy in them. There’s enough room for them to move around freely without any restrictions.
We decided to put them to the test by going for a walk to the brook so that we could play ‘river sticks’ and also so that the girls could have a jump around in the water!
The first thing they needed to do was collect some sticks! River sticks is actually poo sticks, where you stand on one side of a bridge and drop a stick into the water before looking over the other side of the bridge to watch your stick float down! R and M prefer to call it river sticks though!
After river sticks it was time to have a splash in the water! The Puddle Pac-a-Macs did a really good job at keeping the girls dry. You can’t really tell from the pictures, but it was raining quite heavily!
I like that the zips go up quite far, which means that when the girls have the hoods up they don’t need to hold them on as they stay up by themselves. This is great because it means the girls can enjoy splashing around without having to worry about hold onto their hoods!
Another feature that I really like about these Puddle Pac-a-Macs is that the area around the wrists are elasticated. The length of the sleeve is also perfect as it sits where it’s meant to and isn’t too long.
Overall, I think that the Puddle Pac-a-Macs are excellent value for money. They fit really well. They’re durable and they’re also really easy to clean simply by giving them a wipe. We’ll definitely be using these on a regular basis!

These sound great. I'm always on the look out for good quality outdoor gear, particularly British made to support local companies so will definitely take another look at these. Great that they store in their own pocket too. Thanks for sharing.

I think they're very ideal for kids to have especially on this unpredictable weather. Your twins looks like they had great fun exploring the place, not bothered with the rain at all. Lovely review! #binkylinky

Pac-a-Macs are such a good idea to have on hand for kids! I used to have one (although different brand) when I was younger. Maybe I should get an adult sized one now I'm older as I hate getting wet in the rain! #BinkyLinky
