The 3rd Woman Book Review

April 12, 2016
I love a good book. Before I had children I could easily read two to three books a month, sometimes more. Reading has always been a passion of mine. From the very first moment I read my first ever book, I’ve been hooked! Sadly, I don’t read as much nowadays as having children keeps me busy and in the evenings I’m usually too tired!

However, when Mumsnet gave me the chance to receive a copy of The 3rd Woman by Jonathan Freedman I jumped at the opportunity to get back into reading.

Reading the back of the book, which is something I always do before deciding if I think I’m going to enjoy reading it, I was pretty certain that The 3rd Woman would hold my attention.

Reading the first chapter I was quickly drawn into the storyline and also met the lead character, Maddison Webb, who is a journalist.

What I really like about this book is that you don’t have to wait long for some action. Abigail Webb, is the first victim and she just also happens to be Maddison’s sister. Murdered in her own home, Maddison is determined to find out more about her sister’s death. The cause of death is noted as a drug overdose, but Maddison knows that her sister isn’t into drugs.

I really like how this book is written. It flows well which makes reading it easy and the story is easy to follow. At the end of each chapter, I’m dragged further in and left wanting to read more.

As Maddison delves deeper into finding out the truth she soon discovers that Abigail’s death wasn’t the first. Two people before Abigail died in similar circumstances, leaving Abigail as third woman.

The 3rd Woman is suspenseful, full of twists and excitement. I’m half way through and can’t wait to see how it ends!

For the purpose of this review I was sent one copy of The 3rd Woman. All views and opinions are 100% my own.
