The Future

I often wonder about what the future holds. I love to think about what R and M will be when they’re older. Will they go to college? University even? Will they one day get married and have children of their own? We all want the best for our children, so it’s no wonder that more than more parents nowadays are already starting to think of their childrens future. Twin Daddy and I already have savings accounts set up for the girls so that when they turn 18 they’ll have a little something to put towards the cost of a car or a holiday or anything that want really.
I believe I’m quite good with money and although I will splash out now and again, overall we live within our means. It’s so important to teach children about money and there’s no better time like the present. I love the Fisher Prices Laugh and Learn Learning Piggy Bank. It comes with 10 colourful coins to drop into the slot and as each one falls in the piggy bank counts the coins. I can’t remember the exact age I was when my parents opened a bank account for me, but I remember feeling excited at the thought of managing of my own money and having my own savings. It made me feel like a proper grown up!
Aside from teaching children about money and wondering what our girls will be when they’re older, I often think about Twin Daddy and I’s future. We’re currently renting our home and in the process of saving for a deposit. We’re hoping to buy a house in 2015. The house we buy will be what I call our ‘Forever Home’. I’m very much a homebird and aside from one holiday abroad a year, I love being at home!
We haven’t even bought a house yet and I’m already planning on how I will decorate it! I’d love to have a Moroccan themed bedroom. Twin Daddy and I went to Marrakech before the twins were born and I fell in love with the architecture, souks and rich colours. For the living room Nabru sofas would be a good choice. We have a large family. Twin Daddy has 3 children from a previous marriage, we have twins together, plus my mother-in-law, dad, sister and her fiancee and their daughter, we’ll really need a large corner sofa for Christmas’s and Birthdays!
I’d love to have a large garden with some grass, decking for BBQ’s in the summer and a little vegetable patch next to some fruit trees!
What do you think you’re little ones will be when they’re older?
