The PS4 Wishlist
For as long as I can remember I have always enjoyed gaming. When I was in my teens, my sister and I would sit for hours in front of our bulky home PC playing Rollercoaster Tycoon among other games.
As I’ve got older I still enjoy gaming, but I don’t have much time to do so games anymore. One of my favourite games that I used to play all the time was Fable II. In fact after I played Fable II and heard that Fable III would soon be released, I pre-ordered it and booked the day off work!
My husband also loves games too and I would have to go as far as saying that he enjoys gaming more than I do. He currently has an Xbox and a PS3, but he would love a PS4.
The PS4
It’s one of the most powerful games consoles around with 32 times more system memory than the PS3. It’s clear to see why my husband would rather have a PS4 than an Xbox. The PS4 is slim and at half the weight of the Xbox One it’s more appealing to the eye. The PS4 measures 275 x 53 x 305mm so also it’s more compact than an Xbox One.
The PS4 is a next generation computer entertainment system that is designed by gamers for gamers. It’s rich and immense gameplay with powerful graphics and speed combined with the Playstation Network offers an expansive gaming ecosystem. Plus the PS4 is centred around a powerful custom chip that contains eight x 86-64 cores and a state of the art graphics processer.
The Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) has been enhanced to allow for easier use of the GPU for general purpose computing. The PS4 is also equipped with 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, and a 500GB mechanical hard drive.
The good thing about the PS4 is that you can remove the 500GB drive and replace it with a larger one or an SSD for better performance. Plus Sony have confirmed that if you do decide to do this is won’t void the system’s warranty.
Social Interaction
Social interaction is now more central to the PS4 experience, so new features have been built into the systems hardware. PS4 provides dedicated, “always on” video compression and decompression systems that enable seamless uploading of gameplay. In addition to this gamers can now share their achievements at the press of button. Simply by hitting the share button on the controller, scanning through the last few minutes of gameplay, tagging it and then returning to the game.
Gamers can also broadcast their gameplay in real time to friends using live internet streaming services. Friends can comment and if the gamer gets stuck, their friends can even join the game to lend a hand.

As with any gaming console there are a range of accessories available for the PS4. From headsets to cameras and stands, to charging units and even thumb grips!
