What would you do with a spare £100?
What would you do with a spare £100?
Give it to charity? Pay it forward? Treat yourself or a loved one?
I think I’d do a mixture of all of those things. I donate money to charity every month through a direct debit straight from my bank account, but I would probably give a bit more to charity if I had £100 to spare.
I’d definitely treat my children to something. Maybe some new clothes for our holiday to Menorca later in the year or maybe a new toy or book to keep them entertained on the plane. Although the last time we took them on a plane, which also happens to be the first time they’d ever been on a plane, I packed way too many toys and books, but didn’t end up getting any of them out of the bag because the girls were fascinated by the plane and the new surroundings!
My husband rarely treat himself to anything. He works so hard an works long hours which often extends into the weekends. He’s not materialistic so I think I’d take him out to the cinema and for a nice meal afterwards. Before we had children we would go to the cinema a number of times a month. It was one of our favourite things to do. We just don’t get the chance to go anymore so I’d definitely take him to see a film.
I’d probably be really boring and treat myself to some new kitchenware or a book or two! I never thought I’d grow up to be one of those women who gets excited by new pots, chopping boards and baking accessories, but I really am one of those women! So yes, I’d take myself down to my local supermarket or kitchenware shop and treat myself – and my kitchen!
Money can be tight, especially following a recession, the increase in the cost of living and the general costs of every day life so finding a spare £100 can be tough.
However if you have the right kind of bank account which has a goo interest rate then the chances of you having a spare £100 can improve over time.
Here is a fun infographic from TSB which shows the top 10 things that improve over time.
