Winter Vs Summer Play

March 16, 2015
I love summer. Everyone’s happy and upbeat!

It’s warm and dry meaning you can go out and do things.

Winter, however is a different story altogether.
I don’t hate Winter, but I do find it a struggle at times when it comes to entertaining the girls.
Summer is so easy. We can either spend the day in the garden with the paddling pool out along with the sand and water table. This keeps the girls happy and entertained all day.

We could go for a walk, play in the park or go to the lake.
Summer 2014 we lived outside pretty much all day everyday!
Trips to the farm and park were frequent and the days would whiz by in a blur.

Winter, however is dull and wet.
When it’s dry we try to venture outside to the shops or the park, but it’s just so cold!
Days are spent indoors with the heating on full. The kids get bored as they draw on the walls!
I spend the evening trying to think up what we can do the following day to pass the time. I usually end up baking with them, painting or playing play dough with them.
It’s great fun, but it doesn’t last long when the cakes are baked and their paintings finished. Before I know it, it’s time to think of something to do next.
Roll on summer and hazy days in the park!

I can't wait for the summer either! I don't have kids, but I do have a new puppy, and I can't wait to take her out for long days lazing in the park! 🙂

I try and go out somewhere at least once a day, even if it's just a walk down to Londis as Osian gets bored otherwise. I try and do different things with him whilst we're at home but find it hard to think of things. I hope we get nice weather this summer so it can be filled of outdoors 🙂 xx

I agree – so much easier having fun in the summer! 🙂
