A new educational Typing Game has been released to encourage people to learn the skill of touch typing. This is an art that not many people have mustered yet and it’s a great skill to have in your locker.

What is touch typing?

Touch typing is the ability to type using a keyboard without looking directly at the keyboards. It often comes down to muscle memory, where your hands naturally do the work for you. You often need all 8 of your fingers to be able to touch type. With your left and right hand placed at different halves of the keyboard.

If you can touch type, you can reportedly type more than someone who can’t. Presumably, this is due to the fact that you can track the words on the screen rather than bouncing your eyes between the screen and your keyboard.

How does the game work?

So essentially you have 60 seconds to type as many words as you can. There are 10 categories you can choose from, so it really comes down to your interests and what you feel most comfortable about doing. The faster you can type, the more words you’ll be able to fit into the 60 seconds. It’s a great challenge for both adults and kids, as you can both learn something from it. You never know, they may be faster than you!

Share it and compete with your friends

If you have any friends that also have kids, then share it with them and turn it into a bit of a competition. It’s always interesting to see who can touch type, you never know, you may learn something from them to enable you to be the next touch typing extraordinaire.
