You may have considered some of these tips, which is great, but read on because you may find some investments that are right for you, good luck in your investment endeavors!
Real Estate
What?! But real estate is common investment? Sure, house real estate is. Where people tend to buy, do up and sell on as fast as they can. But there are other, more unexplored areas of real estate that can be great for entry level investors. One of the better types of investment can be made by buying an apartment, or indeed renting your own apartment while you work on other retail projects in the intended area. This gives you a feel for the area and allows you to live there, leaving you with all the research you need. They are small and for the most part cannot be renovated on a large scale. To beat this focus on buying an older apartment and doing it up, this will add a decent portion of value. You can also consider completely furnishing the apartment before sale. On the other hand, you can rend the property out for passive income. You can be different in property, go for separate things like conversions. Old pubs and businesses make great conversion opportunities. Be different and you will notice the benefit of added income. You must just be careful and always hedge your investments with clear cut research and forecasting, ensuring your bottom line is always protected. Factor in all kinds of work, including tradesman fees and other kinds of fees such as materials and the like and stick to your budget. This is a heavy investment, and you may prefer something which allows you to part with lower quantities of cash.
Other Precious Metals
Gold is the most popular, but there are other ones worth investing in. Silver can be a good investment. It’s worth jumps erratically because it is used widely in industry which means it is often being bought in bulk. You can use this to your advantage and sell when the worth of silver reaches a high amount. The beauty comes in owning something physical, unlike the usual stocks and indices. Platinum is also a great bet for investment because its worth is so high. It also has commercial applications but less so than silver which makes it more attainable, you still need to be careful though as the fluctuations can be awkward to invest into, always go in low and try not to spread your purchasing like you would with gold. There are other metals too, like palladium, but you are best sticking with silver if you don’t know too much about precious metals. Silver is far cheaper than gold and can be used to diversify. Just know what you are doing and make sure you get your silver from a reputable dealer. Stay realistic and sell as soon as it surges in price. Buy more when it drops in price. It happens a lot with silver, way more than with gold so you need to actively monitor the prices. Ensure you keep the metal somewhere safe like a safe deposit box or a safe in your home. Buy physical metal too, don’t buy it on paper, it is fare more reliable this way and actually owning the product gives peace of mind in great quantities.
Art
Not many people invest in art, but it can become a worthy aspect to any investor’s portfolio if they are careful and do their research. It takes a lot of knowledge to understand art, and even more so to make money from it. You want to look for original pieces and limited editions for the best chances of money making. At the same time, buy something you actually like. This way you can decorate your home with it in the meantime so long as it is in a place where it won’t get damaged, like under direct light. You can find some great pieces here. Remember, toe the line between buying what you actually like and what will make money. You need to read up on art extensively before parting with money. Essentially, it will go up in value the longer you hold it. Check for rare pieces, meaning art that is one of a kind, with the artist not painting images that are similar. Talk to people in the industry, try to get background information. You may need to go to an auction, or get something valued and verified. Only purchase from good dealers and ensure what you are buying are not fakes, especially when buying from a well known artist. Take measures to protect your art once you have bought it too, if it gets damaged or ruined you will be hugely out of pocket. You can buy protective casings to shield your art from light and other damaging aspects. Keep it away from damp and if you don’t hang it up ensure you check up on it from time to time.

Venture Capital
This is essentially giving money to startups in return for a percentage of their company, when the company grows and gets better it increases in value hence giving you a return on your investment. This is a great thing to do, though it must be stressed the risk is large. You must only invest what you are willing to lose. You need to do your homework too. Check up on the business owner, you are investing in them as much as the business itself. You also need to ensure that they are above board and not scam artists. Do you know much about the business type? You are best only investing if you do, enabling you to help out at certain situations. Ensure you use a solicitor to draw up the right kinds of contracts to ensure there is no bad feeling when you want to pull out or sell up. Be careful here, research is everything, you need to ask the right questions and only invest if you get the right answers. Look at dragon’s den and shark tank, the questions they ask are what you need to know to know whether to invest or not. There is money to be made, you just need to find something great and world breaking. Look at Starbucks, that was a startup one day. As was Apple. Imagine if you bought in right at the beginning, those people are likely millionaires now. It can happen, just be careful and diligent all the while.
