As most people who read my blog probably know by now, our twins are due to start nursery in September.
I want to celebrate this with them and let them both know how proud I am of them for being brave and staying at nursery without mummy and daddy.
I’ve been thinking of ways that I can do this and I’ve come up with what I think is a good idea.
I’m planning on putting together a little celebration ‘first day at nursery box’ so that when the girls come home after their first day they can open their boxes and see what’s inside it.
I have a few ideas of things to put inside. These are:
Certificate for completing first day at nursery
A reward chart of some type with some stickers
A new book, toy or magazine of educational value
A photo of them in their school uniforms – which can later be kept in their keepsake boxes
I’m not sure whether I should put anything else in so if you have any ideas please let me know!
I’ve seen some great online printable available for certificates or I might make my own. I haven’t decided yet!
What do you think? Did you or would you do something similar for when your child starts nursery?

When my son went to preschool I took pics and did all sorts of stuff. We tried definitely to make it sound like the most exciting place in the world and he loved it. I think all of your ideas sound wonderful! Thanks for linking up with #Alittlebitofeverything!

Have not really thought of doing the same when my little boy started pre-school… but this is actually a lovely idea, might do it when my little girl start nursery next year. Great post!

Mine are now 7 -o) Something I've done every year is take a short video of each of my girls on the morning of a new school year. I made a list of questions to ask them, and ask them the same questions every year, It's lovely to watch them back and see them grow and develop. Precious times :o)

Hi Karen, thanks for your comment! I can't imagine them being 7! A video is a great idea and I especially like the idea of asking them the same questions x

I haven't really thought about it, my little one will be 2 tomorrow and starts nursery in September. He has two taster sessions this week as well, I think a nice treat box will be good for him but I doubt it'll work so close to his birthday 🙁 your ideas are fabulous though, I love thee certificate! Hi, thanks for your comment. I wish our girls had taster sessions. There was one, but we were on holiday, so we just went for a look around one day – wasn't quite the same thing! x

This sounds a great idea! Not sure if the girls have already started, but if not, if you are including a book it could be something school/nursery related. I think there's a Topsy & Tim one which is quite sweet! 🙂
