Hijack My Flatpack!
Did you know that 66% of people who buy furniture, buy flatpack furniture. The main reason for this is down to the cost, with 52% of people saying that price was the main factor in making their purchase.
When I buy furniture price is one of the main things that I consider along with what the item looks like, and how easy it is to put together. That being said not all flat packed furniture is pretty, but if it serves the purpose that you need it for then sometimes we buy them regardless of their aesthetics.
In the video below, Phil Spencer, shows us how to customise average looking flat pack furniture items, transforming them into something eye-catching and modern.
I once bought a second hand table off a Facebook selling group. I think it cost me £5. I bought it as a project so that I could upcycle it, but also because it had a magazine rack underneath making it perfect for the kids magazine to go in. The table was nothing to look at, but after sanding it down, applying some chalk paint and varnish it really transformed it into a modern, on trend table.
In the video below, I love the way that the flat pack table is transformed into an elegant dining table. It went from being a drab looking table in the middle of the room, to being the centre piece of the room that makes you want to sit down at it. Take a look at the video below and let me know what you think!
