M’s first ballet class
You’d think that having twins would mean that our girls have the same likes and dislikes, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
M is girly. She loves princesses, fairies and ballet. R isn’t as girly and loves football, spiderman and Captain America. Of course she also likes princesses and fairies, but nowhere near as much as her football and the other things mentioned above.
If you asked R about ballet, she would probably say that she doesn’t like it. When a new ballet class started yesterday I asked M if she wanted to go. She very keen, as I thought she would be, as she has asked previously about learning ballet and always asks me if she can be a ballerina when she’s older.
The class is conveniently located on the same road that we live on, but what’s even better is that it’s in the same hall and on the same day as the play group that we go to. Play group finished at 3.30pm and the ballet class starts at 4pm. Perfect timing, although I was little worried about how tired M would get and also about how bored R would get watching M for an hour!
I didn’t know how M would be taking part in the class either as she’d be doing it without her sister, with children she doesn’t know, with a teacher she’s never met before.
M can be shy around people she doesn’t know, but by the end of the ballet class, M even gave the ballet teacher a hug! I was amazed!
M did so well. An older girl held her hand for a while to show to her what to do and she picked up pretty quickly. The class was an hour long and M loved every minute of it.
I got a bit teary eyed watching her. She’s grown up so much and to see her confidently doing something new, with new people really made me proud of her.
She’s keen to continue the classes so we’ll go again next week and R has asked if she can take part next week too which will be lovely.
I also have to say that R was very patient and well behaved whilst we were watching M. R even said, M’s doing so well isn’t she! I think R was proud of her too!
I’ve asked R if she wants to do football when she’s four as there is a group in our local leisure centre that she can take part in and she’s keen to do so, as is M. Apparently they even encourage the parents to join in!
Do your children take part in any classes such as ballet or football?

Sooo adorable! When I have children in the future I definitely plan to enroll them in a dance class or sports team! Especially ballet- I have an aunt in Swansea who teaches ballet from her home studio so it's pretty special to me! I loved this cute post! Xx

That is so lovely for M! It's actually quite nice that the girls have different interests so they can make their own friends & have some time as an individual. #HappyDiaries x

Aw I would have loved to do ballet when I was younger. For some reason I ended up playing tennis instead! Haha. When I have kids I will make them/let them do as many extra activities as they like. 🙂

How wonderful they both like different things as twins – I think that is fantastic. I only have one girl and she is crazy about ballet but then she is also crazy about rock climbing, swimming club and karate too #BinkyLinky

Awww so lovely! It's amazing how in spite of them not liking the same things but they obviously support each other. Reimer is on swimming lessons now, and I'm looking for lessons that would suit Ruby's age at the moment. I think it's good for them learning new activities as they grow. Lovely post! #binkylinky

Alfie has just started rugby and although he seems to enjoy it mostly he is reluctant to join in all the time! I'm hoping in time it will improve. Lovely post Emily and thanks for hosting #binkylinky

Its great that you are supporting your girls to follow their individual interests. I remember having a couple of sets of twins as friends and one of their biggest complaints was always having to do the same things together.
Thanks for linking up with us, Tracey xx #happydiaries
