My venture into dress making (and shorts!)
I love the lace trim and the super cute pocket. The ribbon ties are also a pretty cute addition and I think the dress fits really well! I already have another dress in the pipeline for M, although I’m hoping to make it in less than five hours this time around! M loves her dress too!
R’s Shorts
To make M’s dress I followed a tutorial from a book that I have, but for R’s shorts I had to wing it a bit as I wasn’t able to find a good tutorial! Bearing that in mind, these shorts aren’t perfect, but I’ve learnt from this experience and I know that next time I can make an even better pair of shorts!
Much like M, R chose the fabrics for her shorts. I love the contrasting green pocket on the blue dotty fabric of the shorts.
I used buttons to add some detail, but also to act as an adjustable waist as the shorts were a bit too big.
By using a thread I was able to create a hook on either side of the shorts to pull the wait in meaning that the shorts fit well and don’t fall down. As R grows, the shorts will grow with her and the thread loop can be unhooked from the button.
R loves her shorts, as do I and I can’t wait to make her another pair soon!
What do you think?

Well done: so creative and the girls look really proud wearing your designs which must feel brilliant. I'm going to have a look at your bunting in a minute: we could do with some more for our bell tent. You may have just inspired me haha.

Wow these look amazing! I would love to try making my daughter some clothes, but at the moment I've stuck to hand stamping some of her clothes to add that personal touch 🙂 #binkylinky
