Personal Training Session Number Three
So far so good! I’m still enjoying my personal training sessions. Read all about my last session here. I’m keeping up the healthy eating and I really want to push my running up to the next level. My PT introduced me to Tabata last week, so I’ve been incorporating this into my running in a bid that it’ll help me to improve my stamina and therefore help me run further. Something I really need to do since I’ve entered the St Davids Day 10k race in Cardiff next year!

During session number three, I started off with 10 minutes on the cross trainer. This was followed by some TRX. Using my own bodyweight via straps attached to the wall. Instead of push ups/press ups on the floor etc, TRX has you at an angle, off the floor.
We then moved onto some hamstring curls using the fit ball, followed up with some work with the battle ropes which was tough! One thing I need to work on is my posture and my kettle bell technique. It’s appalling! I just can’t seem to get it right! I might invest in a set as I have some vouchers so that I can practise at home!
I then did some Tabata on the rowing machine. I’m actually learning a lot about my own body during these personal training sessions. My lung capacity is pretty good. I wish at times that my legs would work a little better! They get tired quickly!
We even did some bench dips and push ups on the ground. I’ve been tasked with doing a plank a day to help strengthen my core. At my last session I managed to hold it for 40 seconds, so here’s hoping at my next session that’ll be longer.
I think my progress so far is good. I think I could definitely push myself a bit more though. We’ll see how next weeks goes!

Good luck with the training! I started the couch to 5k but realised I didn’t like jogging, I am a Zumba fan myself

Good look with your training. I am just starting to exercise at home after having 2 babies in 2 years and it is tough.

Oh I will be following this with interest. I think that I really need a PT as I coast it too much when “trying” to exercise.

Sounds like you have really got into it now, you’re doing amazingly well, I wouldn’t last one week let alone three! I think it does help to have someone pushing you to do it, without a PT I would just give up the first time it got tough! Well done you! #thatfridaylinky

Well done with your training. I decided a few months back I would be healthier and took up Jogging. Then I found out I was pregnant and along came morning sickness and fatigue – Must get back into it after baby arrives!!

Sounds like you’re making good progress! I’m not a gym person and I think the cross trainer is the work of the devil but I quite like a zumba class now and again! #thatfridaylinky

Way to go on the training! It’s so important to set goals for yourself and allow realistic time, and the 10k sounds like the perfect one. You can do it!

Well done, you do sound like you are pushing yourself! I am actually so jealous as have a few weeks before I can start back at the gym…slowly. What a loser. I reckon a 10 second plank I will be proud of. Looking forward to your next update and thanks for hosting x

Well done for sticking to it – plenty don’t. Planks are great, once you’ve mastered the standard planks there are so many variations to work slightly different areas of your core. Keep going.
